Over the course of twelve weeks, students and STARBASE Advanced facilitators met once a week at their schools to prepare for the First Lego League Competition. During these sessions, students learned the fundamental principles of robotics, coding, robot game rules, and programming. On December 7, 2024, eleven STARBASE-sponsored schools participated in the Regional First Lego League Competition at Middle Georgia State University in Macon, Georgia. Three teams from our schools earned awards: Rutland Middle School received the Robot Performance Award, Gray Station Middle School won the Core Values Award, and Wilkinson County Elementary School claimed the Robot Design Award. The students greatly enjoyed the experience and competed at a high level.
